Today was a day about purity. The end of this conference is really the beginning for you. My prayer is that what you have learned today will be the start of a passionate pursuit to be pure before your Savior. As you begin this journey, we have put together a plan of action to help you along the way. This isn’t “the answer”—in fact you could complete this plan and not be any closer to the Lord than when you started. But since purity is in fact a daily journey—not just a one-time decision in an auditorium—these simple steps in the 30 Day Challenge, will give you tools to understand better God’s plan for purity and how it relates to your life.
Part of the 30 Day Challenge is the case of 30 cards that you have received. There is a card for every day and they are small enough for you to carry around with you all the time. Each card has a verse for all-day meditation on one side and the action step for the day on the reverse. Certain days have certain themes:
Sunday: Go! Make sure you are in your church every Sunday. An important part of purity with God is fellowship with other believers. Church also gives us an opportunity to worship our Savior and learn about God’s plan for our daily lives.
Monday: Meditate. Begin each Monday in the word. Reflect on the past week. Think about your successes and failures. Repent and confess the failures and praise the Lord for the successes that He gave you. Then plan for success in the future week. What friends will you need to avoid? From what situations will you need to remove yourself? Ask for God’s help as you move forward for Him in the new week.
Tuesday: Action. Every Tuesday you will be asked to do something. These tasks will not be difficult, but they will be a help to you and others in your journey of a pure life.
Wednesday: P2S. This is my personal favorite. P2S Stands for Physical to Spiritual. These are tasks that are physical examples to us of our spiritual plan. There will be four physical tasks that really have no direct connection to purity but can serve as an illustration for purity in our lives. As you complete these tasks, think about the spiritual application that they will have on your life.
Thursday: ??? You never know what will happen on Thursday, so just be prepared to read the card and accomplish the task.
Friday: Talk. Friday should be a day where you meet with your accountability partner. Talk with your partner about your successes and failures in the journey of purity. Pray together and ask God to help you as you seek to follow Him. Also on Friday plan to recite your memory verse to each other. If your partner cannot meet on Friday make sure you schedule a time earlier in the week to meet. (Whatever day you meet swap Friday’s “talk” with that day. If you have to meet on Tuesday, do the Tuesday task on Friday.)
Saturday: Memorize. Thy word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against thee. Each Saturday there will be a verse or two for you to memorize. Reflect on this verse throughout the week. Commit it to memory and then recite it to your accountability partner the following Friday.
All of these tasks are simple things that you can do as reminders. Purity is a condition of the heart. Remember that while we can work on the outside, God knows our hearts and our true intentions. Make sure that each card is a help to purity and does not replace a real relationship with God. It is my prayer that thinking about purity every day for 30 days will help to make purity a part of your very being.
To your best success,
